REGISTRATION INFORMATION

We invite you to register on Tuesday June 4^th from 4:30 – 6 pm in the Arts Centre

Please bring the following 2 items:

1. Artisans Summer Gift Gallery – Registration Form – 2013 (PDF version) and
2. Artisans Summer 2013 Inventory Form / List (PDF version)

Non-refundable registration fee is $20.00  Not a member?  Membership fee is $20

In order to assure quality standards (this benefits all artisans) we ask artisans new to the show or artisans submitting work in a new medium to provide the committee with two samples of each medium.  Contact the Art Centre to book an appointment – 250 656-7400.

Our customers want your best work.  No items or products developed from kits will be accepted. The CACSP reserves the right to decline work. Minimum pricing is $5, with the exception of cards.

ARTISANS show and sale is run by volunteers at the direction of the steering committee.  CACSP will charge a commission of 40% on sales by artisans who are unable to volunteer; 30% if you volunteer for show monitoring, morning or afternoon shifts (number of shifts depends on the number of entrants); 20% if you do cashier duties (one half day per week).

Demonstrations are encouraged to enrich the show and provide you with additional advertising.  Our customers love meeting Artisans in person!   In quiet times, we encourage artists to bring something to work on.  We hope you will enjoy your volunteer time at the Art Centre.  Visitors have so many positive comments about our shows.

Inventory Form — The numbers that are assigned to you are computer-generated.  These numbers will be sent to you once your items are entered in Consign Pro (Computer Database).

No new inventory will be taken in without prior arrangement

The number of items from each artist will be limited due to space restrictions.  If you have any questions, please check with the committee on registration day (June 4) to confirm these numbers.  As items sell, you will be contacted.

Please find linked the Fall 2013 Program Application Forms.  If you wish to continue your program(s) or offer any new program(s) from September 3^rd  to December 31^st 2013, these forms must be completed with the details of each program (one program per form)…

 Please submit  your application form(s) no later than Friday May 10^th. 

 Please follow the steps below to complete your form:

1. Contact Information: Please complete in full with your current contact info.
2. Program Information:  Only one program per form.  Enter the program name, the day(s) of the week you would like to run the program, and the start/end times.  For each session please enter the desired start and end date. Programs generally do not take place on Holidays.
3. Set-up Information: Please make note of any set-up needed and the approximate length of time it would take.
4. Program Budget:  Please enter a suggested course fee (this fee will NOT include HST), any additional supply costs, and minimum and maximum numbers.

Note: Any applicable L.I.F.E. and staff discounts allow registration at 50% off the regular program price, which may affect your revenue.

The Sidney Sculpture Walk is a project originally initiated by the Town of Sidney and the Community Arts Council of the Saanich Peninsula with the mandate to encourage and support the arts while providing an opportunity for visitors and residents to experience a variety of public art that captures the interest and imagination in an open air gallery. The Sculpture Walk officially opened in June 2012 with the unveiling of twelve original works by various artists.

Mayor Larry Cross explains, “Submissions are being accepted from all members of the arts community; there are no geographic restrictions.  The goal is to be as inclusive as possible and to encourage and celebrate emerging and established artists. Phase II of the Sculpture Walk will add six additional pieces to the existing twelve currently on display.”

Sculptures accepted for exhibit and the location of each sculpture will be determined by an Acceptance Committee which will be comprised of various individuals from the community. Sculptures will be displayed for a two-year term after which time they may be replaced through a new Call for Artists, unless they are purchased. The sale of work will be supported by the Town by releasing the artist’s work should it be sold prior to the conclusion of the 2 year contract.

The Town of Sidney will also encourage and support the sale of artwork by providing the opportunity for corporate and individual sponsors to purchase pieces directly from the artist for the purpose of donating it to the Town’s permanent collection.
